Women in Construction Week: Laying the Foundation for Success

Before a project ever breaks ground, our Cerris Builders Preconstruction team is already hard at work — bringing clarity to the details, aligning partners around a shared vision, and building confidence from day one. This Women in Construction Week, we’re proud to highlight some of the women who lay the foundation for every successful project.

For Natayla Steinke, Preconstruction Manager, that foundation begins with preparation. Guided by her “5 P’s” philosophy — Proper Planning Precedes Professional Performance — she believes the tone of a project is set long before crews mobilize. Through clear communication, timely responses, and a willingness to ask for support when needed, Natayla fosters collaboration rooted in professionalism and mutual respect.

Across the team, that commitment to preparation is matched by a commitment to people. Kaylie Mynar, Preconstruction Lead, emphasizes that strong projects start with strong relationships. “When you genuinely care about people beyond the task or project, you build stronger relationships and, in my experience, achieve better outcomes,” she shares. By leading with empathy and authenticity, Kaylie helps create trust that extends far beyond a single deliverable.

Trust is reinforced through precision, thoughtful communication, and careful alignment. From the proposal side, Veronica Ramirez, Marketing Manager, and Maresa Inestroza, Proposal Coordinator, work together to create clarity before anything is built. They interpret RFPs, organize responses, and collaborate closely with estimating and operations to ensure what the team communicates matches what will be delivered. Every detail matters — not just what will be built, but how — and their work lays the groundwork for client confidence, showing how the team plans, thinks, and collaborates.

Behind the scenes, Christie Schnoor, Senior Contract Administrator, ensures that clarity and organization remain constant, noting that her approach is all about being “dependable, prepared, and committed to my projects and my project teams.” By keeping project information accurate and up to date, coordinating with teams and trade partners, and following through on every task, Christie demonstrates that dependable leadership behind the scenes is essential for success.

Across every role, collaboration is the thread that binds the team. Open dialogue, shared accountability, and trust in one another’s expertise keep the preconstruction process seamless. When preparation is thorough and relationships are strong, projects move forward with certainty.

This Women in Construction Week, we’re proud to celebrate the women on our Preconstruction teams — and all the women across our organization who make a lasting impact on our teams, our projects, and our communities. Thank you for all you do to move our work forward each and every day.
