Employee Ownership

At Cerris, we are employee owners, and we challenge one another to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset. We not only think big, we think like owners, because that’s exactly what we are. Employee ownership gives everyone a stake in our success — and we’ve created an environment where success is significant. We’ve built a culture of accountability, support, and innovation, and it fuels us in our pursuit of building for what lies ahead.

What Is An ESOP?

An employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) is a qualified, defined contribution plan that provides a company’s employees with retirement savings through the opportunity to invest in their employer’s stock, at no cost to the employee. It allows our employees to earn a retirement benefit ranging from 8%-12% of their salary annually with nothing other than their sweat equity.

By The Numbers

For over a decade, the Cerris ESOP share price has seen steady, year-over-year growth — a powerful reflection of our team’s dedication and our company’s long-term strength. This consistent increase in value directly benefits our employee owners, turning their everyday contributions into lasting financial rewards.

Building Wealth

ESOPs offer more than just ownership — they create real pathways for employees to build meaningful, long-term wealth. This model drives broader economic growth and stability. According to the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO), employee owners earn a median income that is 33% higher than the average U.S. worker.

Retiring With Confidence

According to the Employee-Owned S Corporations of America (ESCA), 91% of employees participating in an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) believe they’ll be able to live comfortably in retirement. That’s nearly double the confidence reported by non-ESOP workers, of whom only 49% feel the same.

“People coming into this organization need to think about the employee match — with longevity comes huge growth. Over time, that growth is tremendous and will change our lives.”

Benny Byers

General Superintendent, Cerris Builders

“I felt connected to my title as ‘employee owner’ when I started to do the math on what our return on investment is. Once I saw how valuable our stock was, I was immediately bought in. I’ve seen our stock nearly double the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones, and I think that’s a phenomenal thing to be a part of.”

Jack Duren

Operations Manager, Cerris Systems – Phoenix

“When I first started at Cerris, I was told that this company is employee-owned and at first, I didn’t really understand what that meant. Fast forward to today, employee ownership is the main reason I want to stay at Cerris. I work with a great group of people. I feel valued and respected, and I see that I’m contributing to not only my prosperity but the prosperity of my peers.”
